Position Objective

The role of the Cashier is to efficiently handle sales transactions while providing excellent customer service. The Cashier will also support operational duties assigned by the store management team, such as maintaining visual presentation standards, driving impulse buying at the counter, and promoting the loyalty program.

Key Responsibility

Cashiering

  • Process payments accurately, including handling cash, credit cards, and vouchers.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, and change correctly.
  • Ensure the cash till is balanced at the start and end of each shift, with adequate change available.

Hospitality and Guest Service

  • Provide a positive first impression to customers through proper grooming and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
  • Ensure all products, especially coffee, are served fresh and accurate, following the "Always Fresh" procedure.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by maintaining a friendly attitude, being attentive, and demonstrating product knowledge.
  • Greet customers promptly, and ensure orders are processed efficiently to meet speed-of-service targets.
  • Promote impulse buying by highlighting products at the counter.
  • Encourage customers to subscribe to the Club Apparel loyalty program, explain its benefits, and assist with any inquiries regarding membership.
  • Address customer queries related to the loyalty program, product returns, and exchanges, ensuring you are well-versed in company policies.

Store Operations

  • Follow operational guidelines for product preparation and ensure accuracy in orders.
  • Communicate product needs to maintain availability.

Policies and Procedures

  • Participate in store meetings and comply with all store policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the front counter, particularly during busy periods.
  • Adhere to proper hygiene and sanitation procedures.

Cashiering

Health & Safety

  • Comply with occupational health and safety regulations.

Desired Experience

Candidates should have 1-2 years of experience in a cashier or customer service role, demonstrating proficiency in point-of-sale systems, accurate cash handling, and basic math skills. Additionally, strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.
