Through accessible pricing and Pay What You Can initiatives, we break down financial barriers, supporting talented actors from low-income and underrepresented backgrounds to access the tools they need to succeed.
We run a busy studio and programme ecosystem supporting thousands of actors, and we’re looking for a Customer Experience Specialist to become the front line of that experience.
The Role
This is a part-time, studio-based role (30 hours per week), working from our Islington (N1) studio.
You will be responsible for delivering a smooth, professional, and welcoming experience across all customer touchpoints, from answering enquiries to supporting bookings and keeping daily operations running efficiently.
This role is ideal for someone highly organised, calm under pressure, and confident communicating with a high volume of customers across phone and email.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage incoming emails and respond to customer enquiries in a timely, professional manner
- Answer phone calls and handle customer queries with clarity and confidence
- Support customers through the booking process across Akta services and programmes
- Send booking confirmations and assist with rescheduling where needed
- Maintain clear and organised inbox management across the business
- Ensure a smooth and positive customer experience at every touchpoint
- Liaise with internal teams (programmes, studio, marketing) to ensure accurate communication
- Escalate issues appropriately and ensure they are resolved efficiently
- Support the day-to-day administrative flow of the studio
- Keep systems, bookings, and communications organised and up to date
About You
- You are a native or fluent English speaker, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You are highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks at once without losing attention to detail
- You are confident speaking on the phone and handling a high volume of enquiries
- You are a clear and professional communicator across email and phone
- You are proactive and able to take initiative without needing constant oversight
- You are calm under pressure and able to problem-solve quickly
- You enjoy working in fast-paced, people-facing environments
- You are reliable, consistent, and take pride in delivering a high standard of work
- You are London-based and able to work in-person from our Islington studio
- You care about creating a positive and accessible experience for all actors, and align with Akta’s mission
