Description

We are hiring a part-time Customer Service Representative to support patients through medical bill negotiation. This role is client-facing and process-driven: you’ll be responsible for following up with inbound leads, understanding patient needs, and working directly with hospitals or provider billing departments to negotiate reduced balances or payment terms. This is not just a support role, you need to be comfortable on the phone, asking the right questions, and pushing conversations forward to a resolution. Part-time. Fully remote. Must be ENGLISH- SPEAKING.

Hours: 20 hours a week. Flexible within 9am–5pm CST.

Salary: $900/mo

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow up with inbound leads submitted through the website (via HubSpot).
  • Review and complete patient information inside HubSpot.
  • Call patients to understand their situation and goals (settlement, payment plan, etc.).
  • Guide conversations to uncover what the patient is realistically trying to achieve.
  • Contact hospital and provider billing departments to negotiate balances on behalf of patients.
  • Handle back-and-forth communication between patients and providers until a resolution is reached.
  • Close out negotiations and accurately document final outcomes in the CRM.
  • Keep all records organized and up to date throughout the process.
  • Follow call guidelines while still being able to think on your feet.

Key Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in customer service, sales, or a call-based role.
  • Strong English communication skills (clear, confident, and professional on the phone).
  • Comfortable handling sensitive conversations with patients and providers.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented when managing multiple cases.
  • Experience using a CRM (HubSpot preferred).
  • Ability to follow a process while still adapting to different scenarios.
  • Must own and be able to use a working computer with high-speed internet.
  • MUST BE ENGLISH-SPEAKING.

Nice To Have

  • Background in medical billing, healthcare administration, or insurance.
  • Experience negotiating or handling payment-related conversations.
  • Sales experience (helpful for driving conversations and outcomes).
