Role Overview

This is not an entry-level customer service role. We are specifically looking for someone with a strong background in optics who understands prescriptions, lenses, and lab workflow.

You’ll be responsible for handling customer communication, troubleshooting orders, and ensuring jobs are processed correctly. You need to be able to think like an optician or lab tech, not just a call center rep.

If you love optics but don’t enjoy dealing with people face-to-face, this role is ideal. You’ll work from your own desk in a comfortable office, communicating with customers over the phone and computer, without the pressure of in-person interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle customer communication via phone and email with confidence and clarity
  • Review, understand, and troubleshoot prescriptions and lens orders
  • Answer technical questions about lenses, coatings, and job feasibility
  • Work directly with lab production to resolve issues quickly
  • Manage order flow and ensure accuracy from intake to completion
  • Proactively catch and fix problems before they affect the customer

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

  • Prior experience in optics (optician, optical lab, or similar role)
  • Strong understanding of prescriptions (sphere, cylinder, axis, add, prism)
  • Familiarity with lens types, coatings, and basic lab limitations
  • Ability to read and interpret jobs without needing training on fundamentals

  • Comfortable with systems and order entry
