2. About the Opportunity:
The Customer Service Specialist – Healthcare Billing, Revenue Cycle Management plays a key role in managing patient interactions related to billing and insurance inquiries. This position ensures patient satisfaction by resolving complex billing issues, explaining charges, processing payments, and coordinating with internal teams to address discrepancies. The role contributes to the organization’s efforts to empower patients in managing their financial responsibilities within healthcare, supporting timely and accurate communication and resolution of patient concerns.
3. Responsibilities:
• Handle patient calls and messages, de-escalate issues, and ensure satisfaction using a structured communication framework
• Collaborate with providers and operations teams on urgent patient billing matters
• Proactively contact patients with outstanding balances to discuss payment options and insurance benefits
• Assist administrators with member billing needs via the task management system
• Investigate insurance claims to verify processing accuracy and reconcile patient and insurance balances
• Utilize technology tools including communication platforms and electronic medical record systems to complete daily tasks
• Participate in team development activities such as rounding, huddles, and problem-solving sessions
• Support in-office providers with urgent patient needs as required
4. Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in a healthcare call center environment
• At least 1 year of experience in medical billing, insurance claims, or healthcare revenue cycle management
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using electronic health records or customer relationship management systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex financial information clearly
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
