One of our State Government Clients is seeking to engage a Shared Services Support Officer – Grade 3

  • Contract Duration: 06 Months initially with possible extension
  • Work Location: Sydney – Milsons Point Office (Hybrid available)
  • Eligibility: You must need to have either Australian Full Working Rights / Permanent Residency / Australian Citizenship
  • Tentative Start Date: ASAP
  • Budget: $250 – $300 per day + Super

Role Description:

We are seeking motivated and customer-focused individuals to join a leading State Government Department as a Shared Services Support Officer. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy helping people, solving problems, and delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will be the first point of contact for customers, providing accurate information, resolving queries, and ensuring a positive customer experience across multiple service channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle customer enquiries via phone, email, and/or chat in a professional and timely manner
  • Understand customer needs and provide appropriate solutions or guidance
  • Accurately record and manage customer interactions using internal systems
  • Follow established processes, policies, and service guidelines
  • Escalate complex issues to relevant teams when required
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and ownership
  • Work across multiple systems while managing customer interactions efficiently

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in a customer service environment (contact centre, service desk, shared services, or similar)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport and manage customer expectations
  • Comfortable using multiple computer systems and learning new technologies
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
  • Proven ability to adapt to change and learn new procedures quickly
  • Good typing speed (minimum 40 WPM) with high accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Preferred (but not mandatory)

  • Experience working in a government or regulated environment
  • Experience handling high-volume customer interactions
