General Description

The destination services executive is the liaison between the sales department, membership, associations, and the public sector to ensure the satisfaction and return of groups to Atlanta in the future. The manager works with confirmed business utilizing a minimum of 250 room nights on peak.

Responsibilities (including, but are not limited to the following)

Sites & Services

  • Serve as an Atlanta subject matter expert and a liaison between meeting planners, hospitality industry partners/members and other external resources, this may include:
  • Source ACVB member companies for customer needs (program speakers, transportation, event planning, venues/restaurants, etc.) and submit RFPs to members on behalf of client
  • Coordinate & host customer site visits for confirmed business (arranging accommodation, transportation, scheduling, meals and facilitating site inspection process)
  • Serve on host committees for select groups
  • Organize pre-convention meetings to prepare community at large (APD, MARTA, Taxis, Atlanta Ambassadors, convention area businesses, etc.) for arrival of group
  • Participate in pre-show meetings to promote convention in Atlanta
  • Promote use of ACVB promotional materials and destination marketing content (promotional material customization, telemarketing campaigns, etc.)
  • Obtain letters of welcome from the Mayor and Governor and facilitate speaker requests
  • Manage City Décor Package at airport, hotels, and convention area (design, production, permitting, and distribution of digital/print assets: banners, posters, buttons, signage, digital displays, etc.)
  • Secure overflow housing with member hotels

General Administration & Management

  • Manage programs, projects, and expenses according to ACVB guidelines
  • Supervision of administrative staff to include coaching, mentoring and performance management
  • Work with vendors and ACVB accounting to coordinate collection of commissions, hospitality contributions and client invoicing

Other Duties

  • Maintain a positive working relationship with ACVB members
  • Document all account details and activity in CRM system
  • Maintain current knowledge of member hotels, venues, restaurants, attractions, etc.
  • Attend ACVB, member and hospitality related events as directed
  • Maintain active participation with assigned professional organizations
  • Provide additional support to department projects and related ACVB programs as directed
  • Stay up to date with hospitality industry trends

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise performance of shared support team members, which may include interns

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent technology-based skillset to include knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.) and CRMs
  • General knowledge of Atlanta’s hospitality industry with an emphasis on the hotel inventory in the Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead areas

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required (business, communications or related discipline preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the hospitality industry; experience across multiple disciplines required (hotel/event sales, catering, meeting planning)

Additional Information

  • Work Hours: Monday – Friday (with ability to work a flexible schedule to include moderate to significant early mornings, late evenings and weekend work)
  • Work Environment: Standard, temperature-controlled office environment with moderate office noise level
    • During offsite meetings, events and site visits, work environment changes depending on location: hotel, restaurant, convention facilities, airplane, and related travel and event venues
  • Work Location: This is a full-time on-site position located in the Atlanta office four days a week, and one remote working day a week

    • Moderate lifting up to 35 lbs. (items may be separated to reduce weight)
    • Position requires significant amount of walking/standing during site visits, trade shows and related sales activity
    • Position requires significant amount of driving and commuting during site visits
  • Travel: 10-25%
