2. About the Opportunity:
The Dispatcher/Router Combo plays a critical role in managing driver dispatch and routing to ensure timely and efficient waste collection and delivery services. This position supports operational success by coordinating driver assignments, resolving service issues, and optimizing routes to balance customer satisfaction with cost efficiency. The role requires strong communication and computer skills to interact with drivers, customers, and internal teams, using proprietary software for real-time routing and next-day planning. The position is remote, with shift start times between 9am and 10am ET, and may include some overtime, weekend hours, and limited travel.
3. Responsibilities:
• Dispatch drivers to calls based on customer needs, driver locations, and load information
• Collaborate with sites and service departments to optimize routes
• Determine daily driver staffing levels for responsiveness and productivity
• Assign routes and service tickets for current and next day, ensuring route completion
• Handle incoming calls and emails from customer service and sales teams regarding pickups and deliveries
• Communicate with customers during driver service to resolve delays or issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve potential delivery and pickup problems proactively
• Manage same-day service for missed pickups by tracking routes and driver movements
4. Requirements:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D (accredited)
• Minimum six months relevant work experience in a team setting with effective communication skills
• Ability to multitask and organize in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient computer skills with ability to manage multiple programs and systems
• Effective and professional communication via email, telephone, and two-way devices
• Willingness and ability to learn proprietary routing software
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• The expected base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $21.00 to $23.00 per hour
• The specific salary offered will depend on the candidate’s experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location
