Africell, the pan-African mobile telecommunications company, is recruiting for Help Centre Agents to be based in Serrekunda, The Gambia.

The role is responsible for:

  • Providing introductory information, such as a product manual explanation, to prospective and new customers.
  • Handling customer complaints and troubleshooting issues with products or services.
  • Following up with clients or customers by phone, web chat or email to check that they’re still satisfied with their purchases or services received.
  • Accessing databases to retrieve account information for customers.
  • Informing customers about additional products or services that might benefit them in upselling and cross-selling.
  • Escalating queries and concerns when necessary and following up on open tickets.
  • Updating customer records following each contact.
  • Staying up to date on the latest products and services an organization provides.
  • Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.

You will collaborate with the Mobile Money team to achieve the contribution to Africell’s mission of bringing affordable, fast, and secure mobile connectivity to millions of customers across Africa.

The ideal applicant will have at least 1 year experience and possess:

  • Elementary Education in any Discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Good communication skills with fluency in both written and spoken English.
  • Gambia Local language preferences – Wolof, Mandinka, Fula.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
