About The Role

The Human Resources Generalist position offers a unique opportunity for individuals seeking to develop a comprehensive understanding of HR functions within a fast-paced financial services environment. This entry- to early mid-level role provides broad exposure across various HR disciplines, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and HR operations. Working closely with an experienced HR team, the HR Generalist will support key initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards. The role is ideal for candidates eager to build a well-rounded foundation in HR practices, contribute to organizational success, and grow their career in human resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Some HR experience preferred (internship, HR assistant, or entry-level role)
  • Foundational understanding of employment law and HR compliance
  • Comfort with technology and HR systems; prior experience with HRIS or ATS is a plus
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Interest in pursuing HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus but not required
  • Experience with HRIS and HCM systems (e.g., Paylocity, Lattice) is advantageous
  • Experience in banking, financial services, or federally regulated industries is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist hiring managers with developing job postings, screening applicants, coordinating interviews, and supporting the offer process
  • Support full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions, ensuring a positive candidate experience
  • Assist with new hire onboarding, including orientation sessions, paperwork completion, and systems access setup
  • Maintain accurate candidate and requisition data within the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Support employees and managers by addressing questions related to HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Assist with employee relations matters, including gathering information and supporting conflict resolution under senior HR guidance
  • Contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace by supporting engagement initiatives and team activities
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and ancillary benefits
  • Support annual open enrollment activities, including communication, system updates, and employee inquiries
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO)
  • Support HR operations by maintaining employee records, preparing reports, and assisting with audits and regulatory submissions
  • Coordinate and support employee training programs, including compliance and leadership development initiatives
  • Assist with payroll processing, salary benchmarking, and market analysis
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze trend data to inform HR strategies
  • Support workplace safety initiatives and participate in relevant committee activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the HR team and organizational objectives
