Role Description The Junior Executive – Customer Service in Freight Forwarding is a full-time, on-site role based in Colombo. This position is responsible for handling customer inquiries, providing shipment updates, and ensuring that clients receive accurate information about their cargo status. The role includes coordinating with internal operations and external partners, preparing and updating documentation, and resolving service issues promptly and professionally. The Junior Executive will monitor customer requests, follow up on pending matters, and support the team in meeting service level expectations. The person in this role is expected to maintain clear records, communicate effectively with customers, and uphold the company’s standards for quality and reliability.
Qualifications
- Strong Interpersonal Skills to communicate clearly and build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to maintain high levels of Customer Satisfaction through timely responses, professional conduct, and proactive service.
- Experience or interest in Customer Support and Customer Service activities such as handling inquiries, managing complaints, and providing updates.
- Foundational understanding of Customer Service Management principles, including follow-up processes and service quality tracking.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of freight forwarding or logistics is preferred, with willingness to learn industry practices and documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to work with email, spreadsheets, and internal systems for tracking and reporting.
- Ability to work on-site in Colombo, manage time effectively, and collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
- Educational background in logistics, business, or a related field is beneficial, though relevant experience or training will also be considered.
