What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Respond to inbound calls, emails, and written inquiries regarding patient billing statements and account balances
- Provide clear and empathetic communication to explain charges, payments, and insurance processing
- Assist patients with setting up payment plans and processing payments over the phone
- Investigate and resolve billing issues, escalating complex matters as necessary
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service or call center environment, or in a billing area of a healthcare setting
- Basic knowledge of medical billing terminology and insurance processes
- Proficient with computers and billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or other EMR systems)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and time management skills
