2. About the Opportunity:
The Patient Service Representative plays a vital role in managing patient inquiries and supporting clinic operations to enhance patient satisfaction and clinic efficiency. This position is responsible for screening patient requests, resolving issues, facilitating administrative processes, and maintaining clear communication within the care team. The role contributes directly to optimizing patient flow and supporting the organization’s mission to deliver effective, patient-centered care.
3. Responsibilities:
• Screen incoming patient inquiries via phone, online messaging, or other channels
• Communicate courteously and effectively with patients, focusing on problem resolution
• Address patient satisfaction, flow, and compliance issues; advocate for patients as needed
• Collaborate with supervisors to resolve operational challenges
• Handle patient requests for forms, medication renewals, referrals, authorizations, and related administrative tasks
• Update patient records, including demographics, primary care assignments, and insurance information
• Maintain communication with patients, care teams, providers, and external agencies
• Review appointment schedules to ensure optimal clinic utilization
• Assist with data collection and reporting (e.g., no-show reports, telephone statistics)
• Participate in problem-solving initiatives to improve department productivity and quality
• Engage in special projects unique to the department
4. Requirements:
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum age of 18 years
• At least 1 year of customer service experience
• Experience or aptitude to use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
• Proficiency in booking, rescheduling, and canceling appointments and verifying patient eligibility using digital platforms
• Proficient in Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel for communication and collaboration
• Flexibility to work Monday through Friday within standard business hours (8:00 am – 4:30 pm), including occasional overtime if needed
Preferred:
• One or more years of clinical setting experience
• Familiarity with patient-related documents
Telecommuting Requirements:
• Residence within commutable distance to 485 Arsenal St, Watertown, Massachusetts
• Ability to secure company-sensitive documents (if applicable)
• A dedicated, private workspace at home
• Access to a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Hourly pay ranges from $16.15 to $28.80 based on full-time employment, experience, education, and certifications
• Additional benefits include a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution, subject to eligibility
