The Kinross Kettle River-Buckhorn Operation is located in the State of Washington. The operation mines and processes ore from eight separate deposits in four local production centers. The Buckhorn mine continues to be a flagship operation for the company, having being highly awarded for leadership in low-impact mine development.
Position Summary and Responsibilities
Safe Operation of underground mining equipment to include:
• Haul Trucks
• Muckers
• Forklifts
• Shotcrete equipment
• Tractors
• Other expectations of a Miner 1 – 3 include: Efficient batch plant operation and the ability to assist with ground support installation. Ability to recognize underground conditions that affect safe tramming speeds on ramps. Ability to recognize ground conditions by sight. Ability to test conditions with scaling bars to maintain a safe working environment. Ability to install and maintain all utilities and good housekeeping is an essential requirement of this position. Ability to maintain inventory counts and restock supplies. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
Education
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or commensurate related experience. Must have six months underground experience or experience with surface equipment.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
