A client of ours, a well-established distribution business in Jetpark, is looking for an experienced Customer Care and Operations Manager to take full ownership of their warehouse operations and customer service function.
This is a senior role for someone who can run a busy warehouse end-to-end – receiving, storage, and dispatch – while keeping customers at the heart of everything the operation does.
What you'll be responsible for:
• Managing receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations, and enforcing operational policies and procedures
• Setting and achieving distribution goals (accuracy, OTIF), controlling resources, and managing the approved budget
• Maintaining strict inventory control – cycle counts, stock takes, and data reconciliation
• Overseeing daily routes and improving route plans for timely deliveries
• Driving cost-reduction initiatives without compromising productivity or quality
• Leading the customer care function – owning customer issues through to resolution and building engaged, loyal customers
• Developing service procedures, standards, and accurate reporting
• Training, motivating, and managing team performance
• Overseeing health & safety, security, and planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment
What we're looking for:
• Matric, plus a related degree or diploma in Logistics / Warehouse / Supply Chain Management
• Minimum 10 years' experience in warehousing and distribution
• Minimum 5 years in middle or senior management
• FMCG / distribution industry experience preferred
• Syspro or a related ERP system – essential
• Valid driver's licence and knowledge of EH&S
• Strong client-facing, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
