2. About the Opportunity:
The Patient Support Advocate*serves as a patient advocate resolving issues related to claims, benefit referrals, physician access, and care coordination. This role manages a high volume of inbound calls, accurately enters patient information, and ensures patient concerns are addressed with strong customer service. The position acts as a liaison between patients and various departments, contributing to improved patient experience and support within the healthcare system.
3. Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate customer service skills that reflect the organization’s commitment to quality and care
• Manage multiple tasks including data entry and phone communication using dual monitors
• Handle complex and sensitive information exchanges while advocating for patients
• Support teammates and supervisors by assisting with paperwork and documentation
• Identify financial, medical, and legal risks during customer interactions and follow procedures
• Achieve department goals related to call volume, accuracy, quality, and attendance
• Use internal systems to resolve needs such as appointments, authorizations, claims, and benefits
• Document oral information accurately and clearly per guidelines
• Assist new or potential members with PCP selection and provide general medical group information
• Coordinate with clinicians and Telehealth Nurses to support patient needs such as durable medical equipment and transportation
• Enter PCP changes and process related paperwork
4. Requirements:
• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience
• At least 18 years of age
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and other software systems
• Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) with flexible 8-hour shifts between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm Monday through Friday or 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Saturday and Sunday, including occasional overtime as needed
Preferred:
• 1+ year experience in healthcare setting
• Bilingual fluency in English and another language
Telecommuting Requirements:
• Reside within Mountain or Pacific Time Zone
• Ability to secure sensitive documents and maintain information privacy
• Dedicated, private work area at home
• Access to approved high-speed internet service
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Hourly pay ranges from $16.15 to $28.80 based on full-time employment and factors such as location, education, experience, and certifications
• Compensation includes benefits like a comprehensive benefits package, incentive programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution, subject to eligibility
